If it's a bug, first try pressing button to reset all of your site data. If the bug persists, or you have a feature request, suggest it in the feature tracker market on Manifold.
Running all user bets through a single Predictionary account might result in rate-limiting by prediction market platforms. Using your API key ensures that your bets can be placed as fast as possible. Using your platform balance directly also saves you time by not making you create a new account and transfer money over, and saves us a significant amount of development time and legal headache. Predictionary is currently offered free-of-charge to the prediction market community. (Note however that some prediction market APIs charge their own fee. We cannot do anything about this.)
As we add features and expand our user base, this may change if our costs increase significantly. If you found this tool useful, consider donating some fraction of the mana it helped you earn.
With regards to intentional misuse of your funds, markets say yes. Your API key never even leaves your local device, and you can view the unobfuscated code yourself here.
With regards to unintended bugs, Predictionary is currently offered for free and maintained by one person in their spare time, so we cannot guarantee perfect reliability. We have never yet had a bug that cost a user any significant amount of funds, but it's always possible that something slips though in the future. We recommend that you limit the amount of funds accessible to the API keys you input into Predictionary.
We offer a bounty for any serious security vulnerabilities discovered in Predictionary. None have yet been found.
If you would be interested in paying for a more rigorously-tested version of Predictionary that does provide a reliability guarantee, please reach out. If there's demand we will prioritize this.
No. When you place a bet on Predictionary, it goes directly from your browser to the platform, it doesn't pass through our server. For Manifold in particular, we've noticed that Manifold's UI tends to slow down when under heavy load, which means that betting on Predictionary is sometimes actually faster than betting natively. We also optimize our trading UI so that you don't need to go through the extra button-presses and confirmations that you do on other platforms, saving a few more seconds.
There is a slight delay in fetching market updates, but we've worked hard to keep that delay minimal. When a market's probability changes, it's generally reflected on Predictionary within 300 milliseconds from when it's visible on the native platform UI.
(Note: Polymarket bets are inherently slower due to going through a blockchain, and Polymarket adds an additional 3-second delay to all trades on sports markets. These restrictions apply to all traders regardless of how they're placing their bets.)
